JOB DESCRIPTION:
Torah Day School of Ottawa is seeking a dedicated and passionate Rebbi/Morah with a strong background in Chumash, Navi, and Halacha, as well as other standard core Jewish texts to teach and inspire our students. The ideal candidate will be fluent in the primary Seforim and will model exemplary Middos and Yiddishkeit for students both in and outside the classroom. This role involves creating and executing level-appropriate curricula in Chumash, Navi, and Halacha, while ensuring that students grow academically, socially and spiritually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement engaging, grade-appropriate curricula.
- Teach and facilitate students’ understanding of these subjects while fostering the development of critical thinking and Torah skills.
- Deliver lessons that are aligned with the school’s educational goals, ensuring students develop the skills needed for yeshiva/seminary and beyond.
- Apply differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Serve as a role model for exemplary Middos and Torah values both in and out of the classroom.
- Lead and coordinate extracurricular activities, including class trips and other student events.
- Contribute to school-wide special programming, sometimes outside of regular school hours.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to contribute to the ongoing growth of the school community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Torah-educated teacher with a strong, fluent familiarity with Chumash and other Jewish texts.
- Preference towards experience teaching elementary school students.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
- Proven ability to accept and implement constructive feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Passion for teaching and nurturing the next generation of Torah Jews.
