ABOUT YHSO:
Yeshiva High School of Ottawa/Torah Day School of Ottawa is a K-12 Orthodox day school in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, that caters to the entire spectrum of the city’s Torah community. Our educational goal is to prepare students to thrive in yeshiva/seminary and university environments and to equip them with the hashkafic frameworks necessary to live as successful Torah Jews in the world.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Looking for yeshiva-educated rabbi with fluent familiarity with Gemara and halacha seforim who can role model yiddishekeit and middos to grade 9-12 boys.
- Execution and creation of level-appropriate curricula in Chumash, Navi, Halacha and possibly Gemara, for grades 9-12
- Articulation and successful instruction of skills and knowledge of the above subjects according to given criteria, and, when called upon, to develop materials of their own
- Ability to apply differentiated instruction to course materials in the 9-12 classroom
- Role model exemplary middos and mainstream Torah hashkafos inside and outside the classroom
- Excursion of students on extracurricular activities outside and inside the classroom
- Creation and implementation of Shabbatons, Chanukah, Sukkos meals, outside of school hours, for students
DUTIES:
- Providing weekly lesson plans
- Proficient English communication skills (oral and written)
- Successful delivery and implementation of curricula according to provided standards
- Ability to innovate and create new classroom materials
- Ability to accept and implement constructive criticism and feedback over course
Materials and Execution
- Background and experience in classroom teaching high school students in the Diaspora
