The Capital Jewish Experience (CJX) is a division of JET Ottawa, a successful and longstanding kiruv organization in the heart of Canada’s capital city, serving Jewish young professionals in their 20s and 30s. Previously operating as Glebe Shul, CJX provides spaces for young adults to explore Judaism and build relationships through Shabbos and Yom Tov experiences, social programming, and educational opportunities.
We are seeking a full-time Director or a married couple acting as Co-Directors with one full-time and one part-time partner to continue serving our community and expanding our operations to new heights.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hosting bi-weekly Shabbos dinners for young professionals (20-24 per year)
- Planning and Executing Holiday Parties for Sukkos, Chanukah, and Purim
- Providing monthly programming
- Delivering an average of two classes per week on topics of interest
- Learning with young professionals one-on-one and in small groups
- Active participation in general JET kiruv activities
- Managing CJX emails and social media pages
SALARY and BENEFITS
- Commensurate with experience
- Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP)
- Two weeks of paid vacation plus one full Yom Tov (including chol hamoed)
- Up to 10 paid personal or sick days (flexible depending on need)
ABOUT OTTAWA
Ottawa is the fourth largest Jewish community in Canada. There is a frum day school, kosher food, a woman’s mikveh, a keilim mikveh, several eruvin, and multiple orthodox synagogues. Driving distance to most Northeastern cities.
